City view birthing retreat owns both a 2D and 3D/4D ultrasound machine. During a mother's first visit to our facility, a 2D sonar will taken by the midwife. This is included in the first consultation fee of R650. Our facility is also one of few in Pretoria to own a 3D/4D ultrasound machine.

 

3D/4D sonars can be requested by the mother at 28-32 weeks, after she has had her first consultation. These ultrasound sessions are booked separately.

Only one 3D/ 4D ultrasound is recommended at 28-34 weeks, due to higher risk of heat and cavitation produced by the increased sound waves.
